2011 PDI - "Outside the Box"
The annual MOSAC2 Professional Development Institute is an effort to raise the quality of education sessions for attendees and meets the requirements of the Youth Development Credential. MOSAC2’s PDI workshops meet the Missouri and Kansas Core Competencies for Youth Development Professionals and identify the level of training for participants. Presenters are requested to submit information to the OPEN Trainer Registry and RFP’s are submitted to state licensing agencies for approval for training hours.

 Jeff Havens |
Without a doubt, Jeff Havens offers the most unique and entertaining presentations in America today. His original, informative, hilarious, and powerful approach has transformed the way business people and students approach the idea of personal and professional growth. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vanderbilt University, Jeff began his career as a high school English teacher before following his father Rex Havens into the world of stand-up comedy, where he worked with some of the brightest lights in American comedy and honed the art of engaging audiences through laughter. But his impulse to teach never faded, and soon he began looking for an avenue to combine both of his passions into entertaining and meaningful presentations.

 Mike Ashcraft | Co-Founder/Director of Children's Choice holds a Master of Arts Degree in Education with an Emphasis in School-Age Care from Concordia University. He is a doctoral candidate with Nova Southeastern University in the Ed.D. Organizational Leadership program. He has more than 20 years of combined experience in child care and education. He is a former Accreditation Endorser for the National Afterschool Association. He is an experienced trainer in the field of School-Age Care. He is a former training and technical service contractor and a professional writing contractor for the New Mexico State Department of Education. He is a former guest professor on the faculty of Concordia University, teaching college courses in school-age care programming. He a Past President of the New Mexico School-Age Care Alliance, and a Past President of the New Mexico Association for the Education of Young Children.

 Paul Young | Dr. Paul G. Young has worked as a teacher and administrator in schools in Ohio for more than
35 years. Originally a high school band director, Young also taught 4th and 5th grades and served
as an elementary school principal for nearly 20 years before retiring from work in the public
schools. He served as the President of the National Association of Elementary School Principals
(NAESP) in 2002-2003. He played a lead role in the development of collaborations between
NAESP and NAA and the development of the workshop entitled Aligning the Learning Day
which has been presented in numerous states for both principal and after school audiences.

 Cal LeMon |
According to the Society of Human Resources Management, Dr. Cal LeMon has been designated among the "Ten Best Speakers in America."
After an acclaimed career in the ministry which included serving as senior minister of a large, multi-staff parish and a chaplain at Harvard University, Dr. LeMon made a professional shift to become a senior faculty member with National Seminars Group. Cal traveled across the United States, Canada and Europe and quickly became the highest rated (from audience evaluations) male presenter for NSG.
